Marine Corps Sunset Parade: For Those Who Gave All - DVD Highlights
When I joined the recruiting poster said: We promise you mental torment, sleep deprivation and muscles so sore you’ll puke… but we don’t like to sugarcoat things” That’s how I knew I was in the right place. Sept 11, 2001. Unfortunately the Corps has taken many turns in the wrong direction guided by fat, feckless, pentagon generals who e lost their minds, and forgotten what the Marine Corps is about… killing the enemies of our republic and winning wars. It’s no longer the environment of violence and honor and pride it once was. They’ve made some very poor decisions, Male amd Female recruits do NOT belong in recruit training together. You’re training killers, not compassionate do-gooders who are politically correct. Unfortunately a lot of Marines are going to die in this upcoming global conflict because these fat feckless generals were more concerned with people’s feelings who will never serve. I do not envy you today young men… they are letting you down and you don’t even know how much because to you it’s always been this way as far as you know. Personally, I believe females don’t belong in the Marine Corps… it is a violent, war-winning, killing machine that should run on chili Mac and testosterone, and hate bridled only by professionalism, but never the whims of a politician or generals who never saw a day of combat in their career. Females in the Army and Air Force? Sure, maybe. But if that remains the norm, what the hell are we fighting to preserve. Only females can have children and continue this great nation.
They need to show this to anyone going in the military today. Not “how to figure out what you identify as”.
whattt theres black people??
that guy at 3 40 D I looks an sounds like Chet on wierd science
stepped on the yellow footprints MCRDSD 14Aug63 Plt.263
i can sit here and watch this video because of these brave men!!!
This was the real Marine Corps. Now they have females training with the males. Despicable.
3rd Bn, Plt 3021, graduated 24Dec1970 ... trial series that were first series to go on 10-day leave upon graduating ... then, BACK after leave for head count .... then on the Greyhound bus up U.S. Route 17 to 2nd ITR, Camp Geiger, NC
Screamed him into oblivion 7:30
Got one of these from 72?? Like to see it, my brother went through PI then ,says it got easier in 75 when I went throughets see please. SEMPER FI
This video is tame AF. I joined in 2003…during wartime. Everything, and I do mean EVERYTHING was done with speed and intensity. Even the chow hall felt like a war zone. Either you learned fast or felt the pain. 😎
So smile for a while and let's be jolly Love shouldn't be so melancholy Come along and share the good times while we can I beg your pardon I never promised you a rose garden..
Lcpl Usher cut my arm twice in same spot.🤣. I miss those days.
Paris Island, may 1969, 1st recruit training battalion Alpha platoon. Served with first battalion first marines, south Vietnam, semper fi.
I believe alot of these marines went to Vietnam 🇻🇳 in 1971. God Bless Vietnam War veterans. 😢
Platoon 3037, Graduated 9 May 1977. 3 years in 2/7 1stMarDiv. 0351. Paris has changed just like time marches on So Shall The United States Marine Corps. I would have to leave the differences to my Senior Drill Instructor SSgt. Moch, yes after 47 years he is still an influence to me. God Speed, God Bless The Marine Corps,,,,,,, Semper Fi,,,
I knew Pat at The Citadel !
That's what we were told when we showed up at boot camp. "You better be a man before you show up or we don't need you". Ooh Rah.
😂They were faking it, because of the cameras. The Drill instructor's were tooooooooo easy.
Damn, receiving was a breeze if this is how it was…my receiving had me so stressed I got hot in the face and was freaking out
LOVE IT. I was that recruit that fell off the A frame, but the DIs shook me off at the bottom end otherwise I would've made it.
Great memories! Plt.2206. 23 Dec 1983. Ooh-rah!
law enforcement officials have not been allowed to seek a search on cops because they should mandatory background checks have this to be a crime in any state protecting people is not a criminal crime it’s a duty . cops handle it wrong
my dad came from this area and was a pretty clear person who was the only person who will provide protection and support to his children. he had been there when it meant something. it’s amazing how i had the best dad ever to me when it meant learning how to survive without schools or race and asked for help from parents only not other than being close to home because time was running short early bed rise and fall off time was the leading reason to not have a child sleeping overnight
Didn’t promise a rose garden but you definitely get a sandbox.
This is the nicest DI in Corps history.
We don't promise you a rose garden😂. SFMF. I arrived at Parris Island in July of '02, and proudly found the subsequent experience to be very similar to a famous Kubrick movie( nobody died though, I came close once but thankfully epinephrine is common nowadays😅). RIP Lee Emery.
We need a few good Marines and not Baby Blue Marines
RAH! SEMPER FI!
Was there in 75 looked just like that really enjoyed my vacation on the island finally got 3 squares and a cot and money.
This is bs. In the 70's marine bootcamp was 100x harder than now.
I came to see a Chrome Dome once again.
Fast forward to 2024. " You said that the Marine Corps will never change. Why am I seeing the men AND women not only coming off the bus together in SAN DIEGO, but doing PT TOGETHER?????????"-😡😡😡😡
Oh, can you imagine if they made a video like this now? Talking about how they need a few good men??? Oh, the leftists and wokists would go BESERK!!! God bless the Marine Corps, and God bless The United States of America!!!
In today’s administration, pronouns have become the priority. Fighting? What’s that? 😂
I enlisted in 75, that silver head dress was called a crome dome. I returned 89 to attend D. I. School, which was worse than Boot Camp Parris Island. Semper Fi.
This is what boot camp was like when I went thru. You had to learn fast or you paid the price! Dumped foot lockers and never ending incentive PT. Side stepping thru thru the chow line and never enough time to eat before you had to get out and in formation. Semper Fi Brothers!
@oscarbravo7929, I went through army boot camp in '74. If you looked up from your tray while you were eating they would throw your ass out of the mess hall. It didn't matter if you had only taken one bite or not a single bite.
Back when you could actually understand what they were saying...nowadays they do the nasaly voice thing and NO ONE can understand it
Was drafted in 1969and sent to Parris Island with two other guys from my area My platoon was made up of a lot of draftees ocs drop outs and the one's a judge said Marines or jail But no matter what your background. If you went through m.c boot camp you earned the tile of a united state Marine
Love You Brother, and love Beaufort!!
I used to be a military bratty I Grew up at Beaufort Port Royal Parris Island my late father retired USMC Gunny Sargent last time I was down there all wooden barricks gone replaced by brick ones
Semper Fidelis
"...more than 46000 marines trained...blah blah blah.." sounds impressive, right ? What they won't say is how many of them died, now THAT would be the impressive part.
Whatever they do they have to do it in a Los Angeles minute.
The early 70's was the VOLAR era for the Army. many of the experimental programs were dropped after a couple of years.
Who cried when they got their EGA?
USMC 68-71 Parris Island - first two weeks in I thought the DI's were going to kill us. By week three I thought that it would be a good idea. Wouldn't change a thing. Semi fi
Back then the recruits were already grown men who were turned into marines. Today you have to turn them into men first and then into marines after.
Lima Co, Plt 3101 1998
14:31 I went to boot camp in 97, so I didn't do the martial arts stuff. We did the original LINE training.
